Phosphors for UVC LEDs: Self-Disinfecting Surfaces

Life on Earth owes its existence to the ozone layer shielding us from harmful ultraviolet rays, especially the powerful UVC radiation that destroys microbes but doesn’t reach the surface naturally.

Our groundbreaking project aims to create advanced phosphors that convert harmless visible light into UVC emission capable of neutralizing viruses and bacteria.

By developing innovative materials activated by sunlight or LED sources, we envision surfaces that can self-disinfect continuously and safely. Using cutting-edge upconversion techniques and precisely engineered crystal structures, we’re pushing the boundaries of light-driven antimicrobial technologies.

In collaboration with microbiology experts, we’re testing the effectiveness of these new UVC-emitting phosphors against dangerous pathogens, paving the way for revolutionary applications in health, sanitation, and beyond.

Join us on this journey to illuminate a safer, cleaner future powered by light!
